Keeping A Lid On It

”KEEPING A LID ON IT” by Kim VanDerHoek.

7 X 5 inch Oil Painting on canvas board.
S O L D

This is the second painting I did at Irvine Regional Park. There was about a half hour left to paint, I had lots of colors already mixed on my palette and these trashcans were right there. It was fun to see how fast I could work all while trying to push the color.

Reminds me of a Squirrel Nut Zippers song called "Put a Lid on It." :) Also a bit of nostalgia seeing old metal garbage cans instead of the big Rubbermaid type that are so prevalent these days.

Got your postcard in the mail. It now resides happily on the wall, with another of yours, over my desk in my workshop. They make me smile!

Thanks for your post and support through the housing situation, and thanks for the business name advice. Your opinion really resonates with what I have been turning over in my brain.

So anyway, if you're not blogging much these days, hope it's because you're doing fun things -- like painting and spending time with your family. :)

Kim, this one is great...something so simple made beautiful.
Thanks for the post card, a wonderful marketing idea! Do you use someone local for those or online? I thought of trying to do them myself but my printer would probably go on strike:)
