Santiago Trail - A Study

8 X 6 inch oil painting on linen panel.
S O L D

Normally, I like to keep my blog focused on painting, but now I have some news that will be keeping me away from my easel a bit more often. In November there will be another little VanDerHoek in our family! We are very excited!

The last couple of months have made it tough for me to get to my easel. I’ve had a couple of colds that then lead right into morning sickness and the exhaustion that comes with the first trimester. I’m hoping to be through it soon and will paint as often as I can. I really hope you will still keep up with my blog even though my posts may be sporadic!

Now back to painting. My friend Dori Dewberry and I finally got together and went painting. I decided to do a small study just in case morning sickness kicked in and I had to stop suddenly. My goal was to keep it loose and have fun.

Happy Mother's Day!

What a wonderful Mother's Day post! Congratulations. You mentioned in my blog the other day that "family matters" had kept you away for a while, and I so thrilled to find out why! Sorry about the morning sickness but so happy for you.

Kim Congrats!! Did I miss a memo:)
My morning sickness was all day sickness, only cured with eating a lot of food:) - when the food wore off, more sickness...needless to say I was pretty hefty by the time that little bundle of joy came along:)...ah, 14 years ago, like it was yesterday:)
This painting is gorgeous, the colors somehow seem bold yet soft...forgive me for my lack of painting knowledge...I'm not sure how else to describe it. Whatever it is, pregnancy agrees with your painting:)
