Where Next?

7 X 5 inch oil painting on canvas panel.

This little bird has found a home in the baby’s room. I painted a tree on the wall and this painting goes so well in there I couldn’t part with it. Now I need one more….

Thanks to everyone who’s asked how I’m doing! Everything is going along just fine and I’m in my last trimester. My only complaints are being tired and very hot but luckily, we’ve had a mild August this year.

Rocks At High Tide

6.25 X 10 inch oil painting on canvas panel.

This painting is an unusual size. I decided that the cliffs really lent themselves to being painted in a long format. Before I started painting I marked off where I wanted to cut the canvas when I got home I used bold marks to remind myself where to stop. People passing by had a hard time understanding what they were seeing and I overheard a few odd comments which made me chuckle.

For a limited time I’m offering this painting at a reduced price (because it will need a custom frame). Also, I did a small study of this scene that is available for sale in my Etsy shop.

Orange Open Award 2009

The Orange Art Association puts on an amazing juried art show every year called the Orange Open. This year I was fortunate enough to get an honorable mention for my onion painting titled "They're Up To Something." With so many talented artists in the show I feel very lucky to have been given an award this year.

Secluded Cove

12 X 16 inch oil painting on canvas panel.
$525 (plus $1 shipping in the U.S.)

The California coastline always inspires me. I was lucky enough to be able to go down to the beach to paint this recently. The weather was perfect and I enjoyed a cool ocean breeze while painting.

Blog Feature on Handmade by Angie

5 X 7 inch oil painting on canvas panel.
NFS - (An older painting done a few years ago. This is part of my personal collection, it has sentimental value so I'm holding onto it a while longer.)

Many other artists have asked me why I use Etsy as my primary selling venue and I answer that it's the wonderful people there. The shop owners are professional and the customers are an absolute delight to deal with. What is even more amazing to me is when a seller on Etsy promotes my shop, either in their blog or in an Etsy Treasury.

Today I woke up to check my email. Angie, a fellow Etsy seller wrote to tell me she was featuring my shop on her blog today. I'm so flattered! Pop on over if you have a moment and check out her blog.

In The Brambles

5 X 7 inch oil painting on canvas panel.

Finding a nice spot to rest, this pretty bird chose a patch of brambles before flying off in search of food.

Several of you have asked how I’m feeling. I’m halfway through my pregnancy now and for the most part I feel pretty good. I have a few normal complaints, I’m hot, tired and my feet hurt at the end of the day but otherwise, everything’s good. Thanks for asking!
